STRAPPING YOUNG LAD: Video Interview With DEVIN TOWNSEND Posted Online
April 9, 2006A 15-minute video interview with STRAPPING YOUNG LAD mainman Devin Townsend, conducted last December while the band was touring the U.K. as the support act for ARCH ENEMY, has been posted online at 4QRadio.com.
As previously reported, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD have set "The New Black" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in July via Century Media Records. The follow-up to last year's "Alien" was recorded at the Armoury and Profile studios in the band's hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Century Media Records will re-release STRAPPING YOUNG LAD's 1995 debut album, "Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing", in Europe on June 12. The re-issue features a re-mastered version of this classic debut, four bonus tracks, the "S.Y.L." video and a 12-page booklet with extended liner notes from Devin Townsend himself.
STRAPPING YOUNG LAD have secured a second-stage slot at this year's Ozzfest, which is scheduled to kick off July 1 in san Francisco, California. Other bands appearing the second stage include BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, ATREYU, UNEARTH, BLEEDING THROUGH and NORMA JEAN. Headlining the main stage at Ozzfest 2006 are SYSTEM OF A DOWN and DISTURBED, with OZZY OSBOURNE slated to close 10 shows.
